UH Baton Rouge

I knew I took a risk staying at this place because of all the bad reviews. This is the worst decision I could have ever made. The first night I moved in there was a rat in my apartment! Since then thankfully we have not had those problems. Now, I have realized that the heat in my apartment is broke and they truly do not care. Not to mention I see trash, dog poop, and roaches in the hallway sometimes. Do not even get me started on how the main elevators seem to only work on occasion. I would not recommend living here. Yes, they are under new management, but it is still not a place you would want to live. They definitely do not know how to run a business. Don't be me... be smart, yes the location is nice but the agony is not worth it. I will not be living here next year because of what I have experienced in the past six months of living at the establishment .

I actually never lived here, but I was friends with several people who did, and I can attest to how incredibly easy it is to get into the building- and even people's rooms- without a key or pass of any kind. The few unfortunate times I drove in the parking garage were terrifying, shaving minutes off my life that I will never get back. The garage itself is too narrow for two cars to pass one another safely. Everything about the dog feces, trash, urine, and vomit in the hallways and stairwells is true. Two things that just summarize this place as a whole is the broken doorknob from the garage to the second floor that laid in the stairwell for a good 2 weeks, and a car that had been hit which was parked well within the designated lines due to the narrowness of the structure, which lay in remains for over a month, and could still be there for all that I am aware. People would loiter boisterously in the stairwells and be intimidating, one definitely had an ankle monitor on and were overall sketchy, did not appear to live there. I can attest that they do, in fact, have "security", as one of my friends was hired as such, but it is not a sub-contracted professional security company, it is simply more students with very little to no authority. Literally anyone could come and go as they please, which is terrifying considering the crime has only gotten worse since I've graduated. I'm grateful I will never set foot in this building again, and I truly believe it should just be torn down. Also if you check the people who wrote positive ratings, they all left 5 stars for similar complexes. Fake news.
