We recently moved to the area and needed a new heating and air company. We have 4 units and one of them was running non-stop. The others were working ok. Called Nick’s to come out and check our four units. Was immediately offered an up sale to become a “preferred customer”. The technician arrived on time on a Friday and was very friendly. He went about diagnosing the 4 units and gave us a report. We have a home warranty and did not want him to make any repairs. The bill was $294 to just look which we thought was a little high but at least we knew what problems we had. Later that evening we noticed that one of our previously working units on the main floor was not working. I called Nick’s after hours line and left a message. A technician called in the morning and said he could come by in the afternoon but he needed to check with his boss if we didn’t want to pay $190. We refused to pay the $190 because we were certain it was a problem caused by them the day prior. Later that afternoon the tech called to say he couldn’t make it by because another customer had a problem. Was basically told that if you’re not a preferred customer they don’t have to come out on the weekend. So I opened the unit myself and sure enough the tech from Friday had left the wires off the capacitor. Thanks for nothing Nick’s, we’ll be sure to never use you again.
