On Wed, Jan 24, 2018, a Ballentine duo in an ambulance responded to a call from a nursing home about my 93 1/2 yr mother. She was found with an injury to the calf of right leg...bleeding profusely from a deep cut, which eventually required 13 stitches. My mother is a heart, kidney, and Alzheimer’s patient.
My sister arrived on scene & was told they were taking her to the closest hospital (named). At which point, my sister left to go ahead & begin paperwork. After waiting 30 mins with no arrival, she called to ask the nursing home about the delay. After a few minutes of checking, Ballentine dispatch discovered she had been redirected to a different hospital, due to overload. NO CALL was made to inform the nursing home of the change...and the duo KNEW where my sister had gone to wait for their arrival. We understand overload & diversion; but 1 quick, simple phone call could have avoided great stress & concern...PLEASE think.
The Ballentine duo just dropped my Alzheimer’s mother at a hospital...unknown to anyone for at least 30 mins!! INEXCUSABLE! Careless, thoughtless, and totally unacceptable.
